Why We Built ChronoDent
Every day, patients leave dental offices confused about their treatment plans. They nod along to words like "periodontal pockets" and "occlusal wear" — then go home and do nothing. We built ChronoDent to fix that.
The Problem We Saw
For Dentists
- • Spending 10-15 minutes per patient explaining perio charts and x-rays
- • Treatment acceptance rates stuck at 30-40% for recommended procedures
- • Patients declining care because they don't understand the consequences
- • No good way to show patients how their habits affect their prognosis
- • Paper handouts that patients throw away before reaching their car
For Patients
- • Feeling overwhelmed by clinical terminology they don't understand
- • No way to review what the dentist said after leaving the office
- • Suspicion that recommended treatments are just upselling
- • No connection between daily habits and long-term dental health
- • Difficulty explaining their treatment plan to family or insurance
What ChronoDent Does Differently
Visual Tooth-by-Tooth Risk Mapping
Instead of showing patients a confusing perio chart with numbers, ChronoDent displays a color-coded diagram of their mouth. Green teeth are healthy. Yellow teeth need attention. Red teeth are at risk. Patients understand it instantly — no explanation needed.
AI That Writes Like a Human
Our AI reads your clinical notes and generates patient-friendly summaries. "4mm pocket on #14 with BOP" becomes "The gum around your upper left first molar is showing early signs of gum disease. With improved cleaning in this area, we can prevent bone loss." Dentists review and approve before sharing.
"What If" Scenario Sliders
Patients can move sliders to see how their choices affect their teeth over 1, 5, or 10 years. "What if I floss daily?" Watch the red teeth turn yellow, then green. "What if I keep smoking?" See the projected bone loss. It's the first time many patients truly connect their habits to their dental future.
Patient Portal They'll Actually Use
Patients get a login to view their care plans, risk maps, and shared documents anytime. They can show their spouse, email it to their insurance, or review it before their next appointment. No more "I forgot what you said last time."
How It Started
ChronoDent began in 2024 when a periodontist got frustrated explaining the same things to patients over and over — and watching them still decline treatment because they didn't understand the stakes.
He started sketching a simple tooth diagram on paper, coloring teeth red and green to show risk. Patients got it immediately. Treatment acceptance jumped. The question became: how do we scale this?
We built ChronoDent to give every dentist that same communication superpower. The visual risk maps, the AI summaries, the scenario sliders — all designed to make complex clinical information instantly understandable.
What We Stand For
Clinician Approval Required
Every AI-generated summary must be reviewed and approved by a licensed dentist before reaching the patient. We're a tool that helps dentists communicate better — not a replacement for clinical judgment.
Patient Data Stays Private
We don't sell patient data. We don't use it to train AI models. We don't share it with advertisers. Patient health information is encrypted, access-controlled, and handled in compliance with HIPAA.
Honest About Limitations
Our risk projections are educational estimates, not diagnoses. Our AI summaries are starting points, not final documents. We're clear about what ChronoDent can and cannot do — because trust matters in healthcare.
